Papa Owusu Ankomah reportedly tests positive for coronavirus in the UK

Papa Owusu Ankomah was reportedly confirmed positive on Friday Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, Papa Owusu Ankomah has reportedly been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. Reports say Mr. Owusu Ankomah tested positive for the Covid-19 on Friday, April 10, 2020, and has been sent to the Intensive Care Unit in a London Hospital. The Head of Ghana’s Mission in the UK and Ireland since June 2017, is, however, said to be responding to treatment. Back home in Ghana, President Nana AKufo-Addo told the nation in a televised address Thursday night that the country’s tally now stands at 378 with six deaths while four individuals have made a full recovery of the deadly infection. Family of dead Covid-19 patient reject test result, refuse to go into self-quarantine

Family of a 19-year-old man who died after testing positive for Coronavirus in Walewale in the North East Region has rejected the test result conducted by the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research.  Describing the test results as “fake” the family has, therefore, refused to cooperate with contact tracing efforts by health authorities in the region.   Majority of them have also refused to go into self quarantine as advised by the authorities. The family is also asking management of the Walewale Hospital to step down for poor handling of the case.  According to health officials, the infected person, who has no travel history, died four hours after being admitted at the hospital.   Doctors later suspected coronavirus and decided to detain the body for testing. THE MILLENNIUM CITY ZONGO CHIEF CRIES FOR HIS COMMUNITY

The Millennium city zongo chief ( Chief Eliyasu 1) has expressed his interest to support his community with some basic needs to reduce the economic pressure on his community. He made his intentions clear, on how he desperately  needs the attention of the government   on his community./ He added that, the Assembly man and the current member of parliament (Hon. Kojo Asemanyi) made a promise after talking to him to assist the community with sanitizers and veronica buckets to help reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Chief Eliyasu, as a gazetted chief began his fight for the community after he was enstooled   as the millennium city zongo chief. He has made so many efforts to stop the torments of land guards within the community with the support of the Ghana police service and some selected youth in the community. His love for his community grows everyday as He seeks for social amenities and economic developments for the community.  ...
